What is a sleep study?
Aspen Grove Dental Associates offers a free home sleep study to all of our patients. Home sleep testing is a recognized procedure for the diagnosis of sleep-disordered breathing. Aspen Grove uses industry standard portable monitoring devices to test for chronic snoring and mild to moderate sleep apnea. The monitoring device will be used for two complete nights:
- One night to establish a baseline assessment of sleep-disordered breathing
- One night to establish the level of improvement and monitor the effectiveness of your treatment
What is the treatment?
A highly effective treatment option is the use of an oral appliance worn during sleep to support the jaw in a forward position, allowing the upper airway to stay open. Wearing an oral appliance can offer relief and allow you and your partner to rest better.
