FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions | Aspen Grove Dental Associates

Q: Is dental care covered by my health insurance?

A: Dental insurance is a benefit meant to reduce the patient’s cost of dental care. We accept a variety of dental insurance plans. We are happy to assist you in answering questions you may have about your dental insurance, and as a courtesy, we will file your dental claim with your insurance company for you. Insurance can be confusing. We encourage you to research your dental insurance plan and are available and happy to help in any way.

Q: How can I prevent tooth decay and gum disease?

A: Brushing twice a day with a soft bristle toothbrush and an ADA-accepted fluoride toothpaste will help prevent not only tooth decay and gum disease, it will also reduce the need for costly restorative or cosmetic dentistry in the future. You should replace your toothbrush every two to three months.

Proper flossing is crucial in the prevention of gum disease. Place the floss between each tooth; then move it up and down several times while curving around the tooth at the gum line.

Regular dental visits are also a vital part of maintaining good oral health. We can’t express enough how important regular cleaning, removal of plaque, and early detection of cavities are to keeping your mouth healthy.

Q: What cosmetic dentistry services do you offer?

A: Here is an overview of our cosmetic dentistry services:

Whitening

One of the least expensive and convenient options for improving your appearance is tooth whitening. Once considered only for celebrities, tooth whitening is as common today as brushing one’s teeth. Coffee, tea, tobacco, and other everyday foods can cause your teeth to yellow and lose their luster, resulting in a dull and boring smile.

We offer the ZOOM2 Laser whitening system. A new smile in less than 2 hours.

Veneers

Veneers are thin porcelain shells that are gently bonded to the teeth, masking stains, cracks, crookedness, and injury. The end result is brighter, whiter teeth. The next time you notice someone with what appears to be a perfect set of teeth, chances are you’re looking at someone who has had veneers placed over their stained, crooked old teeth. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can have the perfect smile. Add to your face value today by letting us give you the perfect smile. Composite Bonding

Maybe your teeth are strong and healthy but you aren’t happy with the way the look. No problem. Composite bonding is the answer for you. Composite bonding involves a simple process of applying a mild composite resin to the tooth and then using an intense light to make it harden like your own tooth. After it hardens, it is sculpted to match the surrounding teeth, resulting in a sparkling, uniform smile.

Q: How can I maintain good overall oral hygiene?

A: Everyone's teeth are slightly different. It’s important to understand yours. This can impact the kind of toothbrush and toothpaste you use. Consult with Dr. Trammell and Dr. Hutchison about what products are best for your teeth.
